Painting By Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso (1881 – 1973), the pioneer of Cubism, created an astounding 20,000 paintings, prints, sculptures and drawings during his lifetime, including “The Dog.” Thought to be a portrait of his beloved dachshund, Lump, it is the most well-known of his animal drawings. Much of Picasso’s work was bold and complex, but he always drew animals, which he adored, with a gentle hand. Picasso also applied this minimalist style to his drawings of doves, flowers, butterflies and owls.
